What Does A Good Detox Menu Contain?
March 26, 2009 | Tagged detox, natural detoxification, toxins in your body |
If you are living in a city, have a desk job (and a pesky one at that), drive an hour at least each day, and don’t do exercise, then you likely are pressuring your liver to do extra work trying to do away with all that excess of toxins.
Why is my body full of toxins?
Gotten from various souces, the most manifest toxin is the continual pollution in the air that we breathe in mega cities. We also get toxins from all the chemicals that are in our food, especially junk food or food that has been processed to the point that it loses its nutritional value. Some of these chemicals are preservatives and colorants in canned food. By stressing ourselves, we add our own toxins to the mix.
In order to cleanse our bodies from these toxins, a detox menu is recommended.
Why should I consider a detox menu?
A detox menu will eliminate those toxins in your body. You will feel healthier and more energetic when you follow one. Additionally, you will make your liver’s work much simpler, since the liver is the organ that takes care of the natural detoxification of your body. Doing this will greatly reduce the risks of a serious liver failure future liver desease.
What is the content of a detox menu?
There are various common items to most, even though a detox menu varies from one health specialist to another.
Firstly a simple request is the prohibition of alcohol. If taken in tremendous quantities for a long period of time, alcohol is very hard to do away with from our liver, and it may start to pile up scar tissue on the liver, resulting in cirrhosis.
Another thing that is taken out of the picture by a good detox menu is meat, and especially read meat. Red meat is also a difficult thing to handle for our liver, although not as hard as alcohol.
Consuming raw foods is also common in some diets. The reason that this is required by a detox menu is that processed foods contain a lot of chemicals that aren’t natural and may rest in our bodies.
Finally, the most common requirement of any detox menu is drinking water; a lot of it. Water is not only the most natural of substances, but it’s the medium through which our natural detoxification system operates.Being the most essential component of the body, water allows us to do away with toxins naturally.
